About

Background

Craic is a print and online image-based publication exploring heritage, identity and culture in Northern Ireland. The magazine was founded in April 2022 by Irish image-maker James Robinson.

Robinson oversees the platform's management and operates primarily as an Editor. He is heavily involved in the editorial process of the magazine. This includes image-making, styling, and art direction - often drawing inspiration from humour, costume, sports and his rural upbringing.

In 2024, James was named as part of the Dazed100, a list of people shaping global youth culture. Craic was described as ‘sidestepping easy clichés around the complex history of the North, instead acting as a vehicle for its rich visual lexicon, humour and the energy of a new generation’.
