About
Background
Craic is a print and online image-based publication exploring heritage, identity and culture in Northern Ireland. The magazine was founded in April 2022 by James Robinson.
Robinson oversees the platform's management and operates primarily as an Editor. Additionally, he is involved in image-making, styling, and art direction, drawing inspiration from Northern Irish humour, sports, costume and his rural upbringing.
Where to find us
Craic is proud to be stocked at the following UK bookshops and galleries: The Library Project (Dublin), BOOKS Peckham, Belfast Exposed, Sound Advice (Belfast), Myrne Collective (Newry), Village (Leeds/Manchester), BENE Culture (Birmingham) and Good Press (Glasgow).
The National Library of Ireland in Dublin has both editions of Craic in their Northern Ireland Photography collections.
In 2024, copies of Craic were acquired by the French National Museum of Modern Art. These can be found at the Bibliothèque Kandinsky, located at the Pompidou Centre in Paris, France.
We can also be found in REFERENCE POINT library/bookshop in London and Bower Ashton Library in Bristol.
Press & Partnerships
We recently teamed up with AVA Festival in June 2024 to celebrate their 10th anniversary with a special print feature on the two-day Belfast event. Images from both editions of Craic were displayed on the fencing near the Boiler Room stage.
